Outstanding performance by Red Emperor

The Red Emperor turns in an outstanding performance at Caulfield over his first try at 1800m. Trapped wide for the whole race he showed great fight to hit the lead and then hanging on to be nosed out of 3rd place. He was entitle to drop out in the run but his never say die attitude makes him a horse to follow and he will only get better.

The Red Emperor was bought at New Zealand Yearling Sales and at the same time I purchased Steel Road, who made it three wins in a row and he is an exciting sprinter.

All Due Respect also ran a slashing race at Caulfield in the $100K William Inglis race running a close 4th. He has hand only three starts for a win and two fourths.
He is another horse who will only improve over the next six months.

Well Spent (By Pentire) run very pleasing 2nd at his first start over 1200m and has been spelled for the autumn staying races.

TanTat Brav an eight-length winner at his first start is spelling after a chip in fetlock joint. Will be back late autumn.

Pento Diablo also on the injured list after running in Bendigo Cup and will be out till after the autumn.

2. Y.O. update

Shinko King- having a spell after being broken in and having a short prep at Havelock Park. He is a great mover and is maturing into a great type, if you are interested in a nice staying type ring Doug.

Ne Coupe Paz is in training and will be ready for a trial. He is a well-coupled gelding with a good nature and is moving along well. He is a horse who should race early.

Tan Tat Brav Wins by a mile!

WOW!- Tan Tat Brav wins by 7 lengths in stunning debut

Tan Tat Brav made a barnstorming start to his racing career with a 7 length win in the Hyperno Hcp at the VRC meeting held at Bendigo yesterday. Craig Williams eased the colt down near the line, but he still won by a massive margin !

Doug personally chose Tan Tat Brav at last year’s Magic Million sales and purchased the colt for $360,000. I was told by the owner to buy him a good horse and I did. Tan Tat Brav will be targeting the rich feature races this Spring.

Cape Cross – Eugenie Gold Colt

RISING 2 Y.O. CAPE CROSS- EUGENIE GOLD COLT Shares available

Purchased at William Inglis Easter Sale I have trained a number of CAPE CROSS progeny with KING JOHANNES leading the way.I was very keen to purchase this colt after inspecting him. He is a beautifully balanced horse with a great head and conformation with length and scope. He reminded me a lot of KING JOHANNES and is a nice medium size like the other outstanding CAPE CROSS progeny OUIJA BOARD and SEA CHANGE both Multiple Group 1 winner and champions in their respecture countries.

CAPE CROSS will not be serving in the Southern Hemisphere this season so it will be harder to obtain them, which was evident by their prizes at the sales. CAPE CROSS is the sire of 13 Group 1 horses in his first four crops being 2YO’s, milers, classic horses, colt and fillies. The Colts dam EUGENIE GOLD(Bluebird) comes from the Group 1 winners, FLYING LUSKIN, KENWOOD MELEDOY,UMRUN and the mighty TOBIN BRONZE.

Brood mare Sire of Natural Blitz, Art Success

Rising 2 Year Old Filly By: Orientate Dam: Miss Dahlia (Dehar)

Shares AvailableA beautifully balanced and well-grown filly by the world champion USA sprinter (2002) in Orientate – winner of 10 races and he is from the popular Blushing Groom line and our Star Kingdom line in Nodouble.

Miss Dahlia is a 3/4 sister to the Group 1 winner in Des’ Dream and this is the same family who produced my top galloper, Natural Blitz, winner of over $1.25m in stakes. This filly has the same colouring, a similar head to that fine galloper.

Natural Blitz’s half-brother by Encosta De Largo is tipped to fetch around the $1m at the upcoming Sydney Easter Sale. So this filly has great potential both as a race horse and on the breeding side.

Nov 07 Update
